My buddy said my lo-fi track was too clean, so I made it worse on purpose and now I can't decide which one works
He told me the drums sounded like a real kit in a real room and that killed the whole vibe, so I ran the whole mix through a $30 cassette deck I got at a garage sale in Tacoma and added a hiss layer under the beat. Half the people I play it for say the gritty one is the point and the other half say I buried a good song under noise. Which side are you on, does rough always beat clean or can a clean loop still be a good bad beat?
