My cousin said my synth track sounded like a dying fax machine, so now I lean into it
I make weird beats on a cheap Roland drum machine and post them for fun. Back in March my cousin listened to one of my tracks and said it sounded like a dying fax machine having a bad day. I was mad for about a day, then I realized she was kind of right. So I started adding actual fax modem noises and printer jams into the mix on purpose. My track "Office Meltdown" got 400 plays last week, which is way more than anything else I made. Now the worse it sounds, the better people seem to like it. Does anyone else get told their stuff sounds broken and just run with it?
