Spent 2 hours trying to figure out why my 808 kick sounded like a wet cardboard box
Turns out I had the decay knob nearly all the way down on my TR-08 and didn't notice because the lighting in my room is terrible. Felt like a total clown after I finally saw it. Anyone else waste way too long on one tiny setting?

Wet cardboard box" is actually more useful than you think for lo-fi.

And I'm out here trying to make a beat with a broken phone and a sock over the mic, so maybe I should just go find a wet cardboard box haha. @maxhart you might be onto something though, I've used one as a makeshift kick drum before and it actually worked decently. Gotta respect the low budget options!
