That $20 drum machine app I found sounds like a dying robot and I can't stop using it

I grabbed it off some random forum last Tuesday and tried to make a beat for my buddy's track, but every hit hits at a different volume and the hi-hat sounds like static. Has anyone else found a broken plugin or app that somehow makes better weird sounds than the expensive stuff?

I grabbed the free "RobotRitms" vst off some guy's Google Drive link in 2021 and it does this thing where the kick drum randomly pitches up like a dying squeaky toy. Every fourth hit sounds like someone hitting a metal trash can with a wet noodle. My buddy recorded a loop of it and layered it under a clean 808 and somehow it added this gritty texture that sounded like a broken arcade machine from 1985. I spent an hour just playing with the glitchy hi-hats, they crackle and pop like old radio static, made this lofi beat that sounded like it was recorded in a basement during a thunderstorm.
