That one coworker who made me keep my terrible demo track

A few months ago at the studio in Portland, I was messing with this old drum machine and accidentally made this beat where the hi-hat came in three beats late and the bassline was just one note repeated 40 times. I almost deleted it, but my buddy Dave walked by, laughed, and said, "Dude, that's the most honest song I've heard all week, it sounds like a robot having a panic attack." He made me play it on the speakers for the whole office and people were cracking up but also bobbing their heads. Now I keep every weird glitchy take I record, even if it's garbage, because you never know when a mistake turns into something weirdly fun. Do you guys ever keep a track just because someone gave you a weird compliment about it? Has anyone else had a "bad" beat that somehow became a group favorite at work?

My buddy Marcus said my loop sounded like a washing machine full of rocks and now it's the intro to our jam sessions every Friday. I kept it because his dumb joke made me hear it as something funny instead of broken, and now everyone sings that weird bassline when we take breaks. Honestly, half the stuff I keep now is just because someone made me laugh about it first.
