The wedding DJ's drum machine died mid-first-dance in Des Moines

Back in 2011 I was shooting a cousin's wedding in Des Moines, and their DJ's ancient Alesis SR-16 just gave up right as the couple started dancing. The backing track kept looping that same 4-bar synth line with no drums for a solid 90 seconds, and honestly it sounded like a possessed cat walking on a keyboard. I found the power cord half-chewed behind the table, duct-taped it back on mid-song, and the beat came back for the last 30 seconds. Has anyone else saved a gig with a $2 roll of tape and pure desperation?
