Update: a blown speaker in my Corolla made me admit the tape deck beats my phone
Tbh I spent 3 months adding songs to a playlist app in my 2003 Corolla and it still sounded thin and flat. Then my rear speaker blew out in July and I dug out one old mixtape I made in 2009 and it sounded fuller and warmer on the same broken speakers. Ngl I think the tape hiss and the wobbly speed are doing half the work, it makes bad songs sound like they belong somewhere. Anyone else keep a tape deck around just for that fuzzy sound, or am I just making excuses to hoard tapes?
