A customer brought in a vintage Peugeot with a stuck seatpost. I had to choose between a long chemical soak or cutting it out with a hacksaw.

Didn't you have a pipe wrench to try first?

Ever try the pipe wrench method and just end up with a shiny, still-stuck seatpost and a new sense of shame? @abby836, I did that once. I cranked so hard I thought I'd twist the whole frame. The bike didn't budge, but my ego definitely needed a chemical soak after that.

Sometimes a pipe wrench is the only tool that gets the job done. It's all about how you use it and having the right setup. I've freed plenty of posts that way without hurting the frame.
