Caught myself cross threading a pedal for the 3rd time this year
I was rushing to finish a quick pedal swap on a commuter bike before the owner came back, and I felt that familiar gritty resistance again. My coworker just looked at me and said "you know you're going the wrong way, right?" and it finally clicked that I'd been starting pedals on the wrong side for years. Does anyone else still fight the instinct to turn pedals clockwise on the non-drive side?

Starting pedals on the wrong side" - actually both sides turn toward the front wheel.

Oh man, I've been there. One time I spent ten minutes fighting with a pedal before realizing I was turning it the wrong way on the non-drive side. The trick that finally stuck for me was just remembering both pedals tighten by turning toward the front of the bike.
