Chased a creak for 3 hours before trying grease on the pedals first
I had this rental bike from a shop in Denver that just would not stop creaking under load. I pulled the bottom bracket, checked the chainring bolts, even swapped the saddle. After all that work, a buddy walked over and told me to just grease the pedal threads and see what happens. Sure enough, the creak disappeared in about 30 seconds and I felt like an idiot. Has anyone else found that the simplest fix is usually the one you put off the longest?
