Customer called me out on my tire installs
Had a guy come back last week after a flat repair. Said I didn't check the rim tape. He was right. I was just slapping new tubes in and calling it done. Now I always peel back the old tape and look for spoke holes poking through every single time. Anyone else skip this step and learn the hard way?

Gotta point out though - rim tape is for protecting the tube from the spoke holes, not just checking for pokey bits. If the tape is old and cracked or shifting around, you're gonna get flats even if no spokes are poking through.

@anthony989 nailed it. It's like skimping on checking the oil and wondering why your engine seizes.
