Hit 500 bike tune ups this year and it caught me off guard

I was just going through my books last night and realized I've done 500 tune ups since January. That's way more than I thought I'd be at this point in the year. I remember back when I started in 2015 I was stoked to hit 100 total in a whole year. Now I'm averaging like 10 a week easy. Has anyone else seen their numbers jump that much from when they started out?

Hitting 500 tune ups is solid work, but "caught me off guard" makes it sound like you stumbled into it. If you're averaging 10 a week, that's a deliberate pace you set, not a surprise. Numbers climbing fast just means you've gotten faster and built a steady base of customers over time.

You're spot on @barnes.morgan, hitting that many tune ups consistently means you've built real systems and a repeat customer base, it's not luck at all. Once you get into a groove like that the numbers just snowball because your reputation pulls people in faster than you expect.

Gotta say @avery_walker30, one thing folks are missing is that hitting those numbers consistently changes how you price your work over time. Once you're doing that many tune ups, you can afford to be pickier about which jobs you take and maybe bump your rates a little because demand is steady. Idk, that's the part nobody talks about, the freedom that comes from having a full schedule instead of scrambling for every customer that walks in. Reputation is great and all, but the real win is not having to chase every cheap job that comes along.
