Spent 3 hours on a brake squeal that was a 35 cent washer
Customer brings in a road bike, brakes squeal like a dying cat. I pull the pads, clean the rotors, re-bed everything. Still squeals. Realign the caliper twice. Still squeals. Finally take the whole caliper off and find the little spring washer between the brake pad and the caliper arm is flipped. Flipped it over, noise gone. Three hours for a washer. Has anyone else burned a whole afternoon on something this dumb?
