The shop's air compressor died, and my torque wrench game completely flipped

Honestly, I used to just eyeball bolt tightness on customer bikes, figured close enough was fine. Then our compressor at the shop in Dayton crapped out for a week, so I had to hand torque everything with a beam wrench. After 40 or so jobs, I could feel the difference in a properly torqued stem versus a snug one, and it was night and day. Now I check every single bolt with the click type, even on my own mountain bike. Has anyone else had a tool failure force them into a better habit like that?
