I finally gave in and watched the first episode of 'Severance'
I'd avoided it for months because the premise about work-life balance sounded like a downer. The cold, precise look of the Lumon offices in the pilot, especially that first elevator descent, completely sold me on the show's unsettling vibe. What's another show that nails its atmosphere right from the start?

Check out "The Bear" for that same instant, sweaty panic (but about sandwiches, not your soul).

@holly_craig I watched a few episodes and it's just a TV show... people yelling about pickles and ticket times. Real kitchens are tough, sure, but the show makes every single sandwich order feel like a heart attack. It's good drama, but come on, it's just lunch.

Totally agree. It's just food stress as entertainment. @holly_craig nailed it with the soul vs sandwich thing.
