Just blew $80 on a 'binge box' set that was a total waste
Saw a box set of 'The Forgotten City' at a store in Austin, looked like a cool mystery show. Bought it for $80, sat down to watch, and it's literally just a video game on discs, not a TV series at all. I can't return it because I opened the plastic wrap. Has anyone else fallen for misleading packaging like this?

Ugh, that's so frustrating. I always thought those box sets were just old shows, but now I check everything online first. What did the store say when you tried to take it back?

They basically shrugged and said all sales are final. It's a total scam because the box makes it look like the whole series, but it's just a couple random seasons. I'm never buying physical media from a discount bin again without triple checking. The whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth.

Whoa, that's rough. I actually read something recently about those "complete series" boxes being super misleading, how they package old stock of partial seasons with a generic cover. I guess it's been a problem for years with certain discount retailers. Idk maybe you could check the barcode on the back next time or look up a unboxing video on YouTube before buying.
