Just read that the 'Lost' pilot cost a crazy $14 million back in 2004
Found that stat on a random TV trivia site, makes you realize how much streaming budgets have changed things. Anyone else have a favorite show with a wild production fact?

That pilot money could have bought a small island.

Yeah but a small island doesn't come with a 400 page manual on what to do if both engines fail at 35,000 feet. @johnson.adam actually nailed it though - I was one of those people complaining about pilot pay for years until my neighbor retired from Delta and showed me the math on his 20 year career plus all the medical exams and recertifications. You ever try explaining a roundabout to someone who spends 4 days a month in a different city? I bet derek_burns could buy half an island with what he spends on pilot therapy bills from dealing with drunk passengers on red-eyes. Give me the island honestly - less turbulence and no one asking for extra peanuts.

Man, I used to feel the exact same way. Then I saw the breakdown of what they actually do, all the training and the crazy responsibility. That paycheck starts to look different when you realize they're basically flying a building full of people through the sky. It's not just a fancy bus driver gig. Changed my whole view on it.
