Okay, I need to say this about 'The Bear' and the hype.

Everyone told me it was the most stressful, amazing show ever and I had to watch it. I finally caved last weekend. I watched the whole first season, and honestly? I don't get it. It's just people yelling in a kitchen for 30 minutes. I worked in a diner in college and it wasn't that dramatic. The constant shaky cam gave me a headache by episode three. I'm not saying it's bad, but 'best show on TV'? I don't see it. Did anyone else watch it and feel like they were missing something?

The hype machine is a real thing. You watched it expecting a masterpiece and got a kitchen documentary. The shaky cam is a choice, not a flaw, but it's a divisive one. It clicks more if you see it as a show about grief wearing an apron, not a cooking show. Try season two, it's less yelling and more about fixing the actual restaurant.

Season two lost me by episode three. The shaky cam in the first season felt raw and real, like you were right there in the stress. Calling it a grief show is a stretch, it's mostly just people being bad at their jobs. The constant yelling in the kitchen scenes made it hard to watch. I gave up because it stopped being about food at all.

Funny you mention the shaky cam. My cousin tried to film a birthday dinner last year with that same "urgent" style. The video was just a blur of cake and ceiling fan, gave my aunt motion sickness on the couch. Some styles just don't land with everyone.
