PSA: don't trust the 'continue watching' row on Netflix anymore

I was three episodes deep into this crime documentary series last Tuesday and clicked on what I thought was episode 4 from the continue watching list, but it jumped me to the last 10 minutes of episode 1 with no warning. Now I've got a bunch of spoilers stuck in my head and the whole twist is ruined. Has anyone else had this happen on a specific show and found a way to fix it besides just manually searching for each episode?

The real trick is that "continue watching" row also messes up if you ever watch stuff on a different device. My buddy watched like 2 minutes of the finale on his phone at the dentist and then his whole TV row just showed that episode for everything. Best workaround I found is to start a brand new profile just for stuff you really care about. Keeps the algorithm from treating "I fell asleep for 20 minutes" the same as "I paused to grab a snack and will finish this later.

Ugh that's the worst, I feel for you lol. Getting half a season spoiled by their dumb algorithm is such a specific kind of frustration.
