Rewatching old episodes hit different after 8 years

Last week I finally went back to a show I binged in 2017, some crime drama from Norway, and I remembered the killer wrong the whole time. My brain mixed up two characters so bad that the big twist in season 2 landed like a total surprise again. Anyone else find that waiting a few years between rewatches basically gives you a new show for free?
