Spent $90 on a fan edit of my favorite show, zero regrets

I got tired of waiting for season 4 and found a fan edit that re-cut seasons 1-3 into what the guy called the 'director's vision'. It was 45 hours of remastered footage with deleted scenes and a better ending. That $90 bought me a whole weekend of binging something that felt brand new. Anyone else ever dropped cash on fan projects or unofficial cuts?

This one time I paid $60 for a zip file of some guy's chronological re-cut of a show that aired out of order. It came with a 12 page PDF explaining why he moved every scene and honestly it read like a thesis on time travel. Spent the whole weekend yelling at my TV because his version made a character look like a total villain when the original had them as a grey area. Still worth it though because I got to see the show in a way the network never would have dared. Now Im kinda hooked on these weird fan projects, theyre like fan fiction but with actual editing skills.
