The first season of The Wire was a slow burn but season two completely lost me when they switched to the docks.

I was all in on the Barksdale crew and the street politics, then out of nowhere they threw in all these union guys and shipping containers and I felt like I was watching a different show, anyone else just skip season two?

Lost me too until I realized Frank Sobotka was actually one of the best characters in the whole show.

Season 2 was rough for me the first time through, I'll admit. I was all about the street stuff and didn't get why we were suddenly watching dock workers. But after a rewatch, Frank's speech about the union and the way he was just trying to hold his whole world together with duct tape and grit really hit me. That scene where he's talking to Ziggy about the future and you can see the weight of everything on him, that's when it clicked for me too.
