Three day weekend turned into a full series rewatch of an old sitcom

Last month I had a random 3 day weekend after a job got pushed back. I thought I'd knock out some yard work but it rained the whole time. Ended up digging out a sitcom from 2003 I used to watch with my cousin. We hadn't talked in like 2 years so I texted him, he said he still had the DVDs at his place in Phoenix. We ended up watching 4 seasons over 2 days, one episode after another, laughing at the same dumb jokes. Made me realize how much faster shows feel now with 8 episodes a season vs 22 back then. Anyone else rewatch something old and get hit with a totally different feeling than when you first saw it?

Oh man, that hit me right in the feels. I did the same thing with a show from 2005 during a power outage like 3 years ago. The jokes land totally different now that I'm older, some stuff I laughed at back then just feels kinda cringey now, but the dumb ones still get me every time. The 22 episode thing is wild too, I forgot how much filler and side plots they crammed in, which honestly makes it feel cozier somehow. Maybe it's just me but I think the slower pace actually makes you care about the characters more than the 8 episode sprint stuff.
