Unpopular opinion: Streaming services are not worth the monthly bill anymore
Honestly, I canceled my Netflix subscription last month after I realized I was paying $15.50 a month and had watched maybe three shows in six months. I spent that money on a used DVD box set of The Wire from a pawn shop for $10, and it lasted me two whole weeks of binging. The streaming services just keep hiking prices and removing good content, while my DVD player never crashes or deletes my watch history. Am I the only one who thinks physical media is the smarter move for serious bingers? Has anyone else gone back to discs or library rentals?

Wait, you can still buy DVD box sets that aren't all scratched up from pawn shops? Every time I try that the discs look like someone used them as frisbees. I bought a used copy of Breaking Bad once and the first disc skipped so bad I just gave up and watched clips on YouTube.

Ha, I gotta push back on you @ivan873 because I've actually had the opposite luck. I picked up a complete Sopranos set at a Goodwill for eight bucks and every disc plays perfect, no skips at all. You just have to look for the ones that still have the factory plastic wrap or check the disc with a light before you buy. Maybe you're just hitting rough spots, man, but I swear there are hidden gems out there if you dig a little.
