Saved a manual for a 1987 fax machine just to read the troubleshooting section at 3am

Comparing the fax manual's flowcharts to my modern printer's support page made me realize one had actual steps for every beep code, so has anyone else kept obsolete tech docs purely for the satisfaction of a fix-it checklist?

...and honestly that's the thing, right? Like, what does your modern printer's support page actually tell you when it blinks orange three times? Mine just says "check the app" which is useless when the app itself doesn't even load. But that old fax manual probably told you exactly which capacitor to poke or which relay to tap. So my question is, have you ever actually used one of those old manuals to fix something modern, or is it purely the satisfaction of having a real checklist that makes it worth keeping?
