Unpopular take: my neighbor's Firefox bookmarks folder full of conspiracy PDFs actually helped me fix my car once

I laughed at the guy for saving a 2008 PDF on alternator rewinding from some fringe forum, but last month when my 1998 Tacoma died on a backroad in Oregon that 16-page guide walked me through the whole repair in under 2 hours.

What kind of weird stuff did he have saved that actually worked? I need to know if there's a goldmine of weird PDFs I've been ignoring.

My neighbor swears by some old PDF about using eggshells and coffee grounds in the garden. She said it fixed her tomato plants and kept the slugs away too. I always thought it was just old wives' tales, but then I tried it on my roses and they really did perk up. There's probably a lot of good common sense in those old files if you can get past the weird formatting.
