A welder in Amarillo watched me quench a punch in water and said I'd crack it by Friday, he was off by one day
Dropped it on the shop floor Thursday morning and the tip snapped clean off, so now I want to know what you all quench your punches in instead.

Try oil next time, water quench is way too fast for that steel.
