Burned a batch of 12 bottle openers last Tuesday because I got greedy with the forge temp
Had the shop door open in Garland since it was like 95 out, and I was rushing to finish a order for a buddy's bar opening. Pulled the steel out at what I thought was a good orange, went to twist the handle, and it just crumbled on me. Lost 4 of the 12 right there, and the rest had scale pits so bad I couldn't sell them. Ended up eating the cost and telling him I needed two more days. Anyone else fight with summer heat throwing off their color reading on the steel?
