Rant: my forge chimney pipe changed color overnight in Nashville
I fired up the forge last Tuesday like always, but the next morning the pipe above the firepot had this bright orange scale flaking off, never saw that before in 4 years of smithing. Turns out I bumped the air gate too high and hit way past welding heat for about 20 minutes, and that thin wall pipe finally gave up. Anyone else had their chimney section warp or scale after a hot accident like that, and did you just replace the pipe or rework your setup?
