Spent $140 on a used power hammer, now my shoulder thanks me
Been swinging a sledge for 12 years and figured I was fine. Last month I grabbed an old 25lb Little Giant from a farm auction near Omaha. The flywheel was rough and it needed new bushings, but after two weekends it runs smooth. First full day of work with it and my elbow didn't ache at all. I wish I had bought one ten years ago instead of talking myself out of it. Anyone else make the jump to a power hammer and wonder why they waited so long?

Quit lying to yourself, you know damn well you're just trying to justify that thing sitting in your shop taking up space. Honestly though, I get it. I waited like a fool for years too, thinking my arm was made of iron. Then I borrowed a buddy's for a day and felt like I'd been cheating myself this whole time. Now I'm just mad at every hour I spent cussing at a piece of steel with a hammer in my hand. Your elbow's probably not the only thing that's grateful, your neighbors probably are too since you're not making that racket all day.
