A guy at the Portland game shop told me something I can't forget
I was at Guardian Games last Tuesday, just browsing the new arrivals. This older guy, maybe in his 60s, was looking at the same shelf. He pointed at a copy of a heavy war game and said, 'I bought that one in 1998. Played it once. My friends said it was too much.' He was quiet for a second, then added, 'I've moved it to seven different houses since then. Never played it again, but I can't get rid of it. It's like a piece of me I'm waiting to use.' He just walked away after that. It wasn't sad, exactly, but it stuck with me. It made me think about all the games we own that are more about hope than play. How many of your games are like that, just waiting for the right group or the right time?

That's just life in a box.

But what if the box has no lid?
