Finally painted 50 miniatures in a row without stripping a single one

I've been painting Warhammer minis for about 8 months now and always messed up the first 5-10 in a batch. Last weekend I hit 50 straight without needing to strip any. What changed? I switched from those cheap craft store brushes to a $12 Windsor Newton series 7. The difference in control was night and day, no joke. Has anyone else found a single tool that just clicked for their painting game?

you know, funny you mention brushes, because my big breakthrough was literally the opposite. i spent $60 on a fancy brush set and ruined three of them in one sitting because i forgot to rinse between colors. like, just let them sit there crusting up while i happily globbed on some dark angels green. turns out my secret weapon was a $2 set of synthetic flats from michaels that i treat like garbage and they somehow last forever. i still have a couple winsor newtons in a drawer i'm too scared to touch after that trauma.

Oh man, that's such a classic thing! It's like the universe has this rule that the stuff you're scared to mess up gets ruined, but the cheap stuff you don't care about becomes your best friend.
