I heard someone call a game 'too thinky' at my local shop

They were talking about a game I love, and it made me realize some people just want to chill and roll dice. I spent 3 hours teaching my family that same game last month and they were totally lost. How do you handle when your favorite complex game gets dismissed like that?

What game were they talking about? I've had that happen with my favorite heavy games too, and it's frustrating when people just write them off without trying. Sometimes you just have to accept that not every game is for every person, even if you love it. Finding the right group for complex games is its own challenge.
