I listened to that guy who said to sleeve your cards with penny sleeves only

He told me at a convention that cheap sleeves were fine for a game like Dominion, and after 10 plays, five cards have noticeable scuff marks. Has anyone else had a favorite game get wrecked by skimping on sleeves?

My brother actually told me the same thing when I started collecting for Marvel Champions. I bought a 500 pack of cheap sleeves from Amazon and after about 15 shuffles I noticed the edges starting to peel on half my hero cards. I switched to Dragon Shields after that and the difference is MASSIVE. You really do get what you pay for with card sleeves.

Yeah I learned that lesson the hard way too. Cheap sleeves are fine if you're just storing cards in a box but if you actually play with them they fall apart fast. Dragon Shields are solid but honestly even Ultra Pros are way better than the no-name Amazon junk. The thing people don't realize is that bad sleeves can actually damage your cards over time from the rough edges scraping against them. A few extra bucks per pack is worth it when you're protecting expensive hero cards. Just one split sleeve can mess up an entire game night when you gotta stop and resleeve mid-match.
