Just dropped $80 on a board game organizer that made setup take longer
I bought the fancy wooden insert for 'Gloomhaven' thinking it would cut setup time in half. After three hours of assembly and sorting, the first game took us 45 minutes to set up instead of the usual 30. Some folks say these organizers are a must for big games, but I think they can be a trap that adds more steps. Has anyone else bought a game accessory that actually made things worse?

My friend spent over a hundred on a custom foam core setup for Twilight Imperium. It looks amazing in the box, but you need a PhD in Tetris to get all the pieces back in after the game. The time we save on setup is lost on the repacking puzzle. It feels like the hobby part became a second job. Sometimes the plain old baggies are just faster and less stressful.
