PSA: Watch your stuff at the big game night at the Portland library

I was at the monthly board game meetup in the main branch last Saturday and someone walked off with my copy of Everdell. It was the collector's edition with the wooden pieces, a $150 game. I left it on a side table for maybe two minutes to grab a drink, and it was gone. The library staff said they can't watch everything and it's not the first time. Now I bring a small lockable tool box for my games when I go to public events. Has anyone else had to start doing something like this to keep their collection safe?

A lockable toolbox is smart. I just use a tote bag and try not to leave it, but my stuff is mostly cheap copies anyway.

My local game cafe had three thefts last month. They put up signs saying they aren't responsible for personal items. I just don't bring my expensive games out anymore.
