Warning: my $65 dice tower ruined my group's game night

I picked up a fancy wooden dice tower for $65 at a con in Indy, thinking it would speed things up, but the felt ramp makes every roll bounce out onto the floor. We lost a d4 under the couch for 20 minutes and my buddy rolled three straight ones off the table. Anyone got a fix for a tower that launches dice like a catapult?
