Watched a guy spend 20 minutes arguing about the correct way to stack Settlers of Catan tiles at a game cafe

I was at Mox Boarding House in Seattle last Saturday and this dude was dead serious that the random layout is the ONLY way to play. He was literally blocking the table and lecturing a new player for like 10 minutes. The cafe worker had to come over and ask him to let it go. Now I only play Catan at home with friends who dont care about tile placement rules.

Gatekeeping Catan tile layouts is peak nerdery. Dude needs to touch grass instead of holding up the whole cafe.

Four rounds of tile arguing while people have drinks getting warm and someone's 90 minute parking is running out. That's real dedication to the sheep hex placement meta. Guy's probably got a spreadsheet at home ranking the optimal desert locations.
