Had to choose between a Miller and an ESAB welder for a big pressure vessel job. Went with the ESAB. Thoughts on long-term reliability?

Hold up, I gotta push back a little. That downtime story is more about bad luck than the brand. In my experience, Miller's stuff is just as tough, but any machine can have a random part fail. You made a solid choice either way.

Remember watching a guy at my old shop fight with a Miller power source for three days straight on a pipe spool. Ngl, it was just a bad board, but the downtime killed the schedule. Honestly, I've seen ESAB rigs take some real abuse in the field and just keep going. That job made me a believer in simple machines that don't overcomplicate things.
