I finally got the hang of rolling that tricky 4-inch pipe in the tight corner

An old timer named Ray at the Detroit plant saw me fighting with it for an hour and just said, 'Kid, let the weld puddle do the work, don't push it.' I tried it his way and the bead laid in perfect on the first pass. Anyone have a favorite tip for working in a cramped space like that?

My old apartment had a small mirror glued to the wall for that exact reason.

Oh yeah, that's such a smart trick... I did that in my last place too. @wades76, your old setup sounds like exactly what I had going on, it really helped with the hallway blind spot. Worked like a charm for keeping an eye on things.
