I thought that 'cold weld' stuff was total junk until I fixed a cracked boiler feed line with it last winter.

Just a heads up, that stuff is usually called a "cold patch" or "repair compound." A cold weld is actually a different metal bonding process without heat.

Appreciate the correction from @stellat87, that's a really good point. I've totally used those terms interchangeably before without knowing the difference. Makes sense that a cold weld is a specific process, while the patch stuff is just for quick fixes.
