And honestly that little phrase sums up SO much of what I've learned the hard way in my own life. Like, I used to just dive into projects at home, painting a room or fixing a shelf, thinking I could figure it out as I went. Then I'd end up redoing everything or buying extra supplies because I didn't actually check the measurements or think through the steps first. It's the same with planning a big trip or even sending a text you know you'll regret, the quickest fix is almost never the cheapest one in time or frustration later.
