PSA: Don't let a new guy pressure test a 600 psi boiler without you watching.
We were on a shutdown in Gary, and he opened the main valve before the gauge was even hooked up, sending a steam blast across the bay. Anyone got a solid method for teaching pressure safety that actually sticks?

Got a good laugh out of this, mostly because I've been that new guy before. I mean, I once tried to check a fitting with a lighter instead of soapy water, so I get the mindset. For teaching, I found making them watch old safety videos of what happens when things go wrong really drives it home. Scares the stupid right out of you.

Fear is the best teacher, works for everything from gas lines to crossing streets.
