PSA: That simple tube patch on a firetube boiler took me 6 hours instead of 2

I thought I could knock out a patch job in a couple hours last Tuesday in Gary, but the old tube sheet had so much scale buildup I spent 4 hours just grinding it clean before I could even start welding, has anyone else run into hidden prep time like that?

Huh, that's funny - I thought Dave was still working on that rennovation in Gary last week. Guess he gets around more than I thought.
