Stumbled on an old weld inspection report from 1978, the numbers floored me

I was digging through some files at the shop, trying to find a pressure vessel spec, and I found a copy of a 1978 inspection report from a refinery over in Gary. The acceptance criteria back then allowed for porosity we'd never pass today, and the reject rate was something like 15 percent on welds we'd consider routine. It made me realize how much the codes have tightened, especially around arc strikes and preheat. Anyone else ever come across old paperwork that changed how you look at current standards?
