That $250 welding hood I bought was a total mistake

I splurged on one of those auto-darkening hoods from a big name brand thinking it'd be better than my old passive lens... turns out the sensors are trash and it flickers like crazy when I'm tacking in tight spots. Wasted almost a full shift fighting it before I swapped back to my old $60 hood from the flea market. Any of you guys had luck sending these things back to the manufacturer for a refund?

Ugh, that sucks! But just so you know, most of those big brands will NOT refund you if you've already used the hood, they usually only cover defects for like 30 days. Maybe check if it's still under warranty, cause flickering sounds like a legit sensor problem they might fix for free.
