Took me 8 years to realize I was marking my fit-up lines backwards

Last Tuesday in a refinery down in Baton Rouge, I finally noticed my tape was reading 45mm off on every cut because I was hooking the front edge instead of the center of the pin, anyone else had that dumb moment where your helper just stares at you until it clicks?
