Welding rod storage on the truck, who else ignores the temp specs?

I keep seeing guys toss rod boxes in the back of their pickup during summer here in Houston and then wonder why the welds are porous the next morning. I started leaving my flux core and 7018 in a cooler with a couple of those silica packs after a 3 day job where every pass looked like swiss cheese. Does anyone actually follow the rod oven rules on a job trailer, or is that just a shop thing?
