Spine hinges too tight" sounds like a problem only retired bookbinders would notice. Unless your book is literally falling apart, I'd say just read it and move on.

Huh, actually you might be onto something. Used to think people were being picky about that stuff, but after wrestling with a few books that barely open flat, I get it now. Sometimes it does mess with the reading flow, even if it’s not falling apart.
