Glue pot vs. PVA brush, I finally picked one

After years of flipping between a double boiler glue pot and a plain PVA brush, I forced myself to stick with the pot for a whole month. The pot keeps the temperature steady, which matters a lot when you're doing a long run of text blocks in one sitting. My hinges came out flatter and the paste didn't dry out mid-application like it always did with the brush. But cleaning the pot takes forever, so I'm wondering if anyone else has found a faster way to keep it from crusting up between rounds?

Pot’s steady heat but that cleanup hassle kills the whole point for me.
